Kathryn (Kate) is a registered psychologist who completed a Bachelor of Psychology with first class honours at the University of Sydney.  She then went on to complete a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney in 2018.  Kate is currently undertaking the Clinical Registrar program.

Kate has always had a passion for working with children, adolescents, and their families, who have been impacted by anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Intellectual Disability.  She has an interest in supporting children and adolescents who experience anxiety, as well as social, emotional, and behavioural challenges associated with an autism spectrum diagnosis.

Kate utilises evidence-based practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Mindfulness-Integrated CBT.  Across her professional development, Kate completed training in the Secret Agent Society social and emotional skills program for children, Applied Behaviour Analysis, the PEERS social skills program for teenagers, the Cool Kids program for children with anxiety (both with and without an autism diagnosis), and the Parent Management Training program.

Kate is looking forward to developing her skills in play therapy and animal-assisted therapy at Dr Tess Crawley and Associates – transferring both her interests in working with children and animals into the therapy room. When Kate doesn’t have her psychologist hat on, she enjoys bushwalking, volunteering for greyhound rescue groups, and admiring the architecture, culture, and food of new cities.
